The external pageGelbart | ORTHO-TEAM Group has had a clear mission since 1964: empowering people with physical disabilities to maintain or regain their freedom of movement. The company runs a digital manufacturing site in Switzerland, along with a network of orthopaedic workshops which offer customised technical orthopaedic treatments and rehabilitation solutions. In addition, Gelbart | ORTHO-TEAM employs a decentralised team of specialists and service technicians who support end users at their place of residence to promote independent living.

Daniel Gelbart, CEO, on the company’s vision and his motivation to partner with RESC: “I believe that this partnership is rewarding for both sides. The communication loop between science and our feedback from daily patient fittings is particularly important. We want to further improve the user experience with additional services. The prosthetics and orthotics industry is currently in a digital transformation, and we need to learn from each other. Biomechanical research, start-up collaborations and a connection to the software engineering community have become essential for accelerating digital projects of all kinds.”

Oliver Stoller, Executive Director of RESC, sees great potential in the collaboration: “We rely on strong partnerships to better understand the needs of the healthcare community and people living with physical disabilities. The close collaboration with the Gelbart | ORTHO-TEAM Group will help us to establish more targeted research and development programmes to further develop solutions along the whole continuum of care."
