RESC partners with ETH Zurich spin-off Auxivo

ETH Zurich’s Competence Centre for Rehabilitation Engineering and Science (RESC) partners with ETH Zurich spin-off Auxivo. The team develops wearable exoskeletons for use in industry and education.

Auxivo develops wearable exoskeletons that support workers executing physically demanding tasks. Their products reduce workload, exhaustion, and fatigue to ensure the workers' long-term wellbeing.

Auxivo AG was incorporated in 2019 as a spin-off from the Rehabilitation Engineering Lab at ETH Zürich. Today their exoskeletons such as the LiftSuit and CarrySuit are used across many different industries ranging from construction to logistics and agriculture.
Co-founder and CEO Volker Bartenbach on their vision and motivation to partner with RESC: "The partnership was a natural fit as the goals and ideas of Auxivo are very well aligned with the RESC: From their premise that rehabilitation starts with prevention towards their strong commitment to educating about the potential of new technologies. We are happy to see that our occupational and educational exoskeletons can support their mission."

“Assistive technologies such as Auxivo’s exoskeletons have large potential to positively influence physical load related injury and attrition rates,” says Oliver Stoller, Executive Director of RESC. He adds: “The impact goes beyond preventive aspects. The wearable support systems, equipped with close-to-body sensors, open many opportunities in rehabilitation medicine and long-term assistance. We are looking forward to explore and facilitate progress in rehabilitation together with our partner Auxivo.”

Its mission is to improve the quality of life and participation of people with physical disabilities; thus, contributing towards a more inclusive society. RESC promotes exchange, interdisciplinary research projects, innovative education programmes, and knowledge transfer.
